Solar Hot Water
Solar West supply and install Hills brand Evacuated Tube Solar Hot Water systems. These are available in Gas (both LPG and Natural gas) and Electric boosted options. You also have the choice of  glass lined or stainless steel storage tanks. The systems are available in a variety of sizes to suit all residential applications. Systems can also be specifically designed to meet commercial requirements.

The evacuated tube technology operates on a heat transfer process. This has a very important point of difference to flat panel systems. Not only are the tubes rated to minus 15 degrees (no need for frost protection valves which are prone to failure) but in the unlikely event  there is a problem on the roof, there is no water leakage, no ceiling damage and the system continues to operate and produce hot water.  The roof system carries a 15 year warranty.

As a split system, your roof is not bearing the weight of your household hot water. The storage tank can be placed in the footprint of your existing hot water system or relocated to free up internal space if desired.

As a tubular system, the roof array passively tracks the sun, giving increased solar gain. The Apricus system will provide up to 90% of your hot water direct from the sun on average over the year. The tubular design also means the roof system can be located on a western facing roof with no loss of efficiency.

Government rebates are still available from the Federal Government for those households replacing electric hot water systems with Solar Hot Water.

Apricus brand Solar Hot Water systems attract among the highest STC's (Small Scale Technology Certificates) possible for Solar Hot Water systems. The STC value of a system is directly proportional to the efficiency of the system.
